Parade and Party Locations are Changing!
Organizers for the 9th Annual Proudmoore Pride announce plans to relocate the parade and dance party for the 2013 event.

Due to the introduction of hostile Level 90 activity in the Barrens with the release of "World of Warcraft Patch 5.3: Escalation," and also do to concerns over Cross-Realm Zone (CRZ) issues related to the previous Barrens and Booty Bay locations, the 2013 event will be moved to areas not affected by CRZ and that will also be easy for low level guests to access.

The Horde parade route will begin at the Northern gate of Orgrimmar (leading into Azshara) and wind its way through the city, ending at the southern gates where mage portals will transport participants to The Shrine of Two Moons in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. The Alliance parade route will begin at the Northeastern gate of Stormwind (near the Druid trainers, leading into the Dwarven District) and wind its way around the city, ending at the southern front gates of the city (leading into Elwynn Forest) where mage portals will transport participants to the Shrine of Seven Stars in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms.

Once in Pandaria, both factions parades will proceed from their respective Shrines to the steps of Mogu'Shan Palace. Parade participants from both factions will join on the landing in front of the instance, then proceed together down the stairs to the lake in front of the Palace, where the Dance Party will commence.

Guests rolling characters on Proudmoore for the day are recommended to roll Orc (Horde) or Human (Alliance) level 1 characters and proceed to their capital city's parade starting locations prior to the 11:45am start times.

We hope that with these location changes we are able to simplify the parade routes, avoid PvP situations, avoid CRZ difficulties, and ensure all participants are able to reach the Parade and Dance Party with ease.

It's A Date!
The Stonewall Family and The Spreading Taint are proud to announced the dates for the 9th Annual Proudmoore Pride celebration on the Proudmoore (US) server!

The event will be held on Sunday, June 23rd, 2013

The festivities will consist of a cross-faction parade through the capital cities of Orgrimmar (for the Horde) and Stormwind (for the Alliance) and a dance party in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms on the lake in front of Mogu'Shan Palace. The Pride Parade will be stepping off at 11:45am (Server / Pacific Time) with the Horde contingent departing from the northern entrance to Orgrimmar (leading into Azshara), while the Alliance contingent will be departing from the northeastern gates of Stormwind (near the Druid trainers, leading into the Dwarven District). Both groups will meet utilize mage portals to reach their respective Shrines in the Vale and then resume the parade on the roads that lead to Mogu'Shan Palace. The two factions will join together near the entrance to the instance and together march down the steps to the lake...

... where the Proudmoore Pride Dance Party will commence. Timing is subject to change, but parade participants are expected to arrive at the lake in the Vale at approximately 12:15pm. The parade lasts, well, until there's one one left dancing, which tends to be around the 2:30pm or 3:00pm mark.

This year's theme is Marriage Equality: One Love

In honor of the advances the LGBT community has made in this past year, and in anticipation of the pending United States Supreme Court ruling on California's Proposition 8 and Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), we're encouraging all parade participants to wear appropriate in-game Wedding attire for the duration of the parade. While many of us wait with baited breath to see if our marriages - or our hopes for future marriage - will be recognized by not only a handfull of state governments, but also by the Federal government, we felt that our community could revel in a virtual celebration of our identity and our common bond as gamers (and gaymers!) to love unconditionally and regardless of gender.

So fire up those Tailoring alts and whip up a few [White Wedding Dresses] or [Tuxedo Jackets] and join the celebration!

Once in Booty Bay for the Dance Party, everyone is encouraged to change into their most fabulous attire and to get their groove on.

We want to extend a sincere 'Thank You!' to all of the public for taking an interest in our event and to thank all of our guild officers and members who are working together to put this fun, exciting day together.

The newly instituted Cross-Realm Zones (CRZ), which Blizzard introducted with Mists of Pandaria, could potentially cause problems with this event. We are in the process of contacting Blizzard to get a better understanding of the way CRZ works and the best way to continue to host this event so that all participants are able to join in the festivities. Any updates on CRZ related issues will be posted in this News section in the future, so please stay tuned for more information!

Both of the sponsoring guilds are hosting contests for their own guild members. You DO need to be a member of the respective guilds to participate and win prizes in their contests. Contests will be announced soon!
