Proudmoore Pride was created in the summer of 2005 by the guild leaders of The Spreading Taint (Horde) as a way to recognize LGBTQ pride in-game, and timed to match up to real-world Pride celebrations and parades worldwide. In the summer of 2008, Taint asked The Stonewall Family (Alliance) to become the event's official Alliance co-sponsor to help make the event even more inclusive and make the party bigger, crazier and more exciting!

2013 will mark the ninth time that Proudmoore Pride has taken place, and hopefully will be the biggest and best celebration yet!

Proudmoore Pride is one of the best known annual in-game events in any MMO, and has received press coverage in both LGBTQ and mainstream media publications and blogs. Proudmoore Pride has also been known to bring out some of Blizzard's own staff to dance and party with those celebrating.

Highlights from years past include: Nude Dueling, DruPaul’s Drag Race, Azeroth's Next Top Model, over-the-top parade "Floats" and much much more! Every year brings a new assortment of events, contests, and celebration!
